How do I assign a role in my event?

The host, cohost(s), and producer(s) of an event have the power to assign roles to attendees to help out in the event. To read more details about what each role entails, click here.

At the start of an event, there is only the host and attendees, so at this point the host is the only person who has the power to assign roles. Once the host has assigned cohosts and producers, these cohosts and producers now have the ability to invite other attendees to these roles.

1) In order to assign a role, click on the Viewers button to the left of the broadcast area.

2) This will open a list of every person that is currently in the event. Find the name of the attendee you want to invite to a role; use the search function if the list of names is very long.

3) Next to the person's name, you will see their current role. Click the down-arrow button on their role label to see the dropdown menu of roles you can invite them to take.

4) Click the role you'd like them to take to send them a popup invitation. If they accept it, they'll immediately take on that role.

Things to keep in mind:

  • There can only be one host, and nobody can change the host's role except the host themself. Hosts do have the option to turn themself into a producer and assign a cohost to broadcast live in their place.
  • When someone accepts an invitation to cohost they immediately start broadcasting live alongside the host.
  • Cohosts and producers can both invite attendees to become cohosts or producers, and they can also turn other cohosts and producers back into attendees.
  • There is no limit to the amount of producers or cohosts you can assign. However, we recommend having no more than 3 cohosts broadcasting simultaneously alongside the host to keep the broadcast area from looking cluttered.
